I ran the Southbourne fast and flat 10k race today. Training had been difficult and i doubted whether I would last without having to walk some of it. I was expecting a time in excess of 1 hour.  I was surprised how strong I felt and after reaching the half way point in 29 minutes I made up my mind to go for a negative split and finish in less than 58 minutes (my PB is 47). What I hadn’t bargained on was having the the wind in my face all the way back along the seafront.  I eventually finished in 58:58. Very pleased with that.
