It was touch and go for a while whether it was going to happen or not.  I think mainly because of the delay in the pharmacy sending up tablets and also the doctor having to write a letter to my GP.

I did the exercise test in the morning.  This involved a treadmill that was raised and speeded up progressively while your heart rate and blood pressure are monitored.  I reached level 5, the top level which I am told is very rare.  That’s because there’s nothing wrong I wanted to yell, let me out! and let me out they did.

I have to go back for an angiogram at some point and until that gives me the all clear I have to keep taking a cocktail of drugs which all have their own nasty little side effects.  I have to take aspirin and then a stomach settler to counteract the aspirin. Then i have to take a statin to reduce my cholesterol.  This is already at 3.8 and the recommended level is 5 (or 4 if you have a genetic risk of heart disease, which i don’t) then I have one to control my blood pressure which I understand is also normal.23032010(004)

One thing I did notice when I got home was the bruising across my stomach.  This is caused by injections that are given to stop the aspirin irritating the stomach.

I slept fairly well last night and was in the office just after 9. I am still struggling to take this all seriously but the doctors are and i suppose i must too.
